What is Explore?

Explore is an intensive French-immersion program that is offered during the spring and summer.

If you are interested in learning or improving French and travelling to a new part of Canada, then Explore might be the perfect program for you.

Program Length

For participants aged 16+, Explore Riviere-du-Loup offers spring and summer sessions, which last 33 days. 

What do I learn?

French, of course! And the experience is sure to leave you wanting more.

Whether it happens in person or online, expect each day to be busy, fun, and rewarding with:

  • language instruction inside and outside the classroom;
  • themed workshops;
  • cultural activities; and
  • optional evening and weekend events and activities.

Can I apply?

There are no language-skill requirements. If you meet the program criteria, you may be eligible for a place funded by the Government of Canada.

How much is it?

Explore is funded by the Government of Canada, allowing most participants to fully engage in the program instead of worrying about money.

Not eligible for funding? No problem.

We accept participants who can cover their own expenses. You can enjoy the same benefits as other students.

Where will I stay?

In the 100% French-speaking community of Rivière-du-Loup which is located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, some 400km east of Montreal, 200 km east of Québec City and less than 100 km from the United-States border.

Languages at Work program

Participants in the Spring Explore Term are eligible for a summer job program (Languages at Work) following the five-week immersion courses. Languages at Work is a six to eight-week program offering numerous and varied job opportunities. Students can work 30 to 40 hours per week. For more information, consult the link below.
